1203 Sialendoscopy In Non-Stone Sialadenitis Is an Effective Therapeutic Approach

Abstract Introduction The aim of this retrospective case series was to investigate the therapeutic effectiveness salivary endoscopy for non-stone related sialadenitis and obstructive symptoms. Method records 46 patients who underwent between September 2018 December 2019 were reviewed. Included cases presented with at least one symptomatic major gland, no history or evidence stone disease on clinical radiologic examinations. Results A total 22 (48%) 26 glands identified. These had a mean age 50.8 years (range 27–74) 73% female. Most (19/26) involved parotid gland. primary imaging modality used ultrasound, sialography reserved suspected strictures. most common sonographic finding ductal dilation (50%). Dexamethasone instilled completion sialendoscopy in 23/26 cases. Outcomes included improvement 15/18 (4 have follow-up pending) 5/15 experiencing complete symptom resolution. 2/18 did not any improvement, 1/18 experienced acute infection that treated antibiotics. No required gland excision. Conclusions Salivary is minimally invasive effective treatment refractory conservative measures. Our review demonstrated 83% benefit preservation all patients.
